Most folks don't KNOW their own ethnic connections back more than 4 or 5 generations. And, being born of one adopted parent and one parent whose family didn't keep many records, I know much less than most. What I do know is a Heinz 57 sort of mix.

When they ask me race & ethnicity on forms, I write "unknown" because that's the only honest answer. And, since the time of Adam - we're ALL a mix of everything!

I know *I* can't tell who is what (ethnically). They all look alike to me! ;-)

I really hope this is some kind of "joke" and nobody is REALLY going to try to make an issue of this idiotic concept.

Actuallly, ADAM was a mix of everything! Since then we've been sifting thru the gene pool and funneling certain traits into certain areas. Mixing things back up is only "natural".

What about people in mixed marriages? I guess I can't eat at my MIL's anymore, since she is Mexican and makes authentic Mexican food. I imagine all the authentic Mexican, Chinese,etc restaurants would not appreciate going out of business if everyone stopped eating there. America is a melting pot. I love that we have so many choices. We had Chinese last night!

My dd works at an authentic Mexican restaurant and we eat there often. We have been eating there since they opened 13 years ago (they just had their anniversary!)

Believe me, the owner of the restaurant does not consider us all "racist" because we eat there, in fact he is living the high life because his is the busiest place in town and the most popular.

As for white, non-hispanic... I have several cousins that are half Hispanic and you'd NEVER "guess" they were just by looking at them. They have blonde hair, and blue-eyes.
