I haven't heard any men *asking* for that honor!

I had this conversation a while back with a young feminist friend, who is married. I asked, "If you heard an intruder in the house, and DH sent you down to check it out while he stayed safe in the bedroom?" Yeah - nobody wants the difficult honors of the other gender, just the "fun" ones (as DD put it ; )

After dh fell and got stitches friday i was thinking about how much he's been thru and continues to go thru and i got the strangest sensation! I saw him as Jesus standing between me and the things satan hurls at me. What an amazing revelation that was! No, i don't want to be the shield, the warrior, the one that makes the hard decisions and the consequences to fall on my shoulders. No, i don't want to be the one to chop the wood or cook the meals or sew the clothes. Oh, wait. I think i crawled into my Princess castle mode!

Excellent point! Excellent serious point about your DH - and excellent fun point about the princess-y thing ;)

Thankfully, I LIKE cooking : ) Even if I was a princess in a castle, I think I'd still want to do a fair amount of the cooking.

Sewing? I enjoyed it okay as a teen, but I cannot bring myself to spend more to MAKE clothes than they cost at the thrift store -and sometimes more than they would cost retail! (I DO occasionally spend more to crochet something than I would spend to buy it new : ) But, if I NEEDED to do it, I'd probably enjoy it, too : )

And, DH is a saint : ) He just automatically takes care of things that I'm not good at - like tidying :) God bless him!
