I was watching a funny video about the types of moms and one had a son named Arachnid. I will never stop laughing about that.

This also reminded me of an old co-worker, who was white and her husband black. She was talking about naming her daughter and everyone kept telling her she had to pick a "black" name. She was like, "I'm not naming my baby Bumquisha!" It was hilarious. She ended up with very pretty "neutral" names for her girls. I kind of had to do the same thing with my kids, nothing too white or too Hispanic. Although, some would say Saphira's name is a little out there, but she mostly gets complimented on it. And at least it's not Arachnid or Blueberry Yogurt, lol.

WOW! I wonder if that's a "face your fears" tactic?! We'll be having kids running around named Zombie!

Yeah, my dd tried to keep the kids black heritage and yet not be TOO "black". Bumquisha! LOL Saphira is pretty and brings "sapphire" to mind. A little different than BUMQUISHA! That brings to my mind "squish the bum"!

I tried to not only think of the name but the initials, how difficult it would be to pronounce or spell or make fun of. ;) I had a biology teacher that insisted on calling Renee "Ree-nee". That always stuck in my head.
