| Post subject: | Extreme Church Improvement! |
Once there was a Church in desperate need of renovation & revival. The exterior of the Church had not been painted in who-knows-how-long, and it looked it. The Pastor and the Board half-heartedly raised money for the project, and the people half heartedly gave. They took the collection to the paint store, and discovered that they had exactly enough money for one gallon of paint. Being educated city folk who had never done anything like painting before, they decided it would be okay to mix water with their gallon of paint until they had enough of the liquid to cover the building. They sent the janitor up to do the painting, as none of them were industrious enough to do it themselves. At the end of the day, they congratulated themselves on a job well done, and stood back to admire their freshly-painted Church. Just then, there came a clap of thunder, and rain poured down on the Church, washing away all of the badly thinned paint. Shocked, they fell on their knees and asked why all their generous offerings and hard work were being so discarded? A voice came from the cloud, "Repaint! Repaint and Thin no more!" |
