I'm not adjusting well to this new board...

I have tried everything but cannot get email notifications of posts to topics I am following. Please help.

Steph, look under the "New thread" box on the left side of the forum, and you'll see "Subscribe Forum." :0) That should fix you up.

You can click on the "subscribe topic" button on any thread at any time! 8-)

So, if you forget to do it, you can always go back to do it.

When you write a post there's a box below (by attach a signature) that you can click on and, if I'm not mistaken, if you forget to do it there, you could probably "edit" your message (YAY!) and do it that way.

We'll get you there. I'm sure there's lots I don't know yet.

I'm actually liking the new board (and I don't warm up to new things quickly, as a general rule).

I like that all the new stuff shows up at the top with view active topics. I'm enjoying all the introductions. I have the feeling that it's better designed than the old one was.

But, of course, getting used to new stuff is always a challenge.

It has lost a couple of my posts as I tried to submit them, but I'm hoping that's a startup glitch . . .

I got it to email notifications, but it just notifies you there is a new post. It does not show you th text of the post in that email as before. I really miss that! I will try to remember how I set up the notifications. I ended up going back and turning it off because it doesn't show the text of the post. That's the reason I wanted the emails!

I have it set and get nothing but it is ok as if he message isn't in the email it isn't what I want. I think I will be kind of here infrequently

I'm not either, Stephanie. I miss seeing the entire thread at a glance so I know if there are new posts in that thread or not. On the other board, we had the option of choosing that but I've not found that option here (if it's there, someone please point me to it!). I guess I don't have that option on the other board I frequent, so it must not just be that. I've not been able to put my finger on what it is yet -- and I don't think it's just that it's different. I'm not put off by things being different, really. I'll keep trying!

I *do* like that we can edit our posts again!!!

I will have ds investigate how/if the text of the post can be sent through email.

OK, ds has found a workaround and is working on getting it into the system. Will keep you posted!!!
