My husband wondered if he had his seatbelt on. It seems if he had he would have been crushed. Of course we can't see the inside of it exactly so no way to know.

It's a good question. Once in a long time, a seat belt costs a life rather than saving one.

I also wonder what caused this accident - if the semi simply took the car's lane, (I've had them do that to me!) or if the car was going at an excessive speed & passing on the right.

Whatever it was, thank God they're okay!
