I have several friends who LOVE instant pots. I don't have one. I just use a slow cooker. How did it work?

It worked great! Maybe i won't get rid of it!   From frozen roast to on the table in under 2 hours - nice and tender. Not even hard to clean. I like that the inner liner is light. My crockpot is so heavy i can foresee in the not-so-distant future not being able to lift it to wash it. :?

I know people who still distrust nuking food in the microwave. I like slow cookers. Used to take me three hours to prep and cook dinner. I can do it in two now but if I take out the frozen beans I precooked from dry and season them they are ready in half an hour.

Ahhhh, that's what i need to do. I need to make some dried beans and then freeze them in portion sizes. Actually, one of the smartest things i've done to eat better is put "meals" in mason jars. I have black beans with brown rice and tomatoes right now. I have a feeling it's going to help me get thru the next couple of days trying to eat vegan again. I tho't there was a Trader Joe's near here but it's not showing up on the net. Maybe dh remembers where it is. (I'm out of town.)

I can freeze soups in servings sizes as well. That will be a big help when i work for a week or two straight during the holiday season. :)

I know this isn't "instant pot" themed - but I've had great luck precooking beans in the slow cooker : )

Lots of folks swear by beans in the instant pot! Of course, an instant pot is (from what I understand) just a pressure cooker. All of the family back in the Old Country use & swear by pressure cookers, and not slow cookers : )

Weird! I would think they'd cook them in the oven or on the stove or maybe even over an open pit fire!!! NOT a pressure cooker!

I am very unfamiliar with pressure cookers. Never been around them.
