(I've had several people asking. I did post an update on the prayer board but I'm copying and pasting it here so it's easier to find.)

"Thank you all for praying! When we got there, my ds's were called back as soon as we walked in. That has never happened before ever with this dentist. We usually wait over an hour just to be called and then it's another long wait for them to actually do any work on the teeth.
Not today!
Also... a few minutes later the nurse called me to the back and asked why we were only pulling 2 teeth each today?? I told her that they won't do all four at once, and she said "Oh, yes. We prefer it, unless you decide not to. But I see you live a distance from here and it will save you a trip if you do them all today." I just smiled and told her that she was wonderful!
I also told her that I had tried to get the appointment for all four at once and I was told no by the office staff! SO.. they did pull all four teeth for each boy and now those boys sit on my sofa feeling pretty lousy!
Praise God!! When you people pray, God moves. And HE was moving today.
On our way home, I got bumped from behind by a girl in a VW. I was sitting in rush hour traffic and had to ds's that had just had 4 teeth each pulled. Ugh. I decided to show the girl grace. I did not even pull over. We drove home.
I was afraid to look at my car, honestly. But once I got ds's inside and settled, I went back outside and looked. Just a tiny scratch on the rubber bumper. Nothing else!! No dent and you can't tell she hit me at all. Tee heee!!
Ds said the girl's car had a big dent in front. I feel badly for her but I guess she'll learn to slow down next time."

I want to add that today they are very sore and swollen but are going good overall. Still on liquids but I'm sure they'll be ready for soft foods by dinner time.
Thank you all for your prayers. We are so thankful to the Lord that they did pull all four at once.

Stock up on that baby food and mashed potatoes.
Glad the girl did no damage worth fighting over.
The boys will be glad they did all four at once. that is why we had DD's all four wisdom teeth done at once. For a week, she felt like hell and hated us but she was glad she does not have to go through that ever again.

My dd just asked me to buy instant potatoes as she gets her braces tightened in a couple weeks and that is all she wants to eat until the pain eases. Go figure.

My one ds doesn't eat mashed potatoes. (I don't think he's really mine, lol!)
Tonight he had a baked potato with cheese on it. My other ds and I shared a sweet potato.
They are having a bit of softened ice cream right now.
They are feeling better and talking a bit now. :)
They are scheduled for braces on Oct. 1st!! Yay!
This is a long time coming. They really, really, need braces.
I'm trying to get their senior pictures taken before the braces get put on, per their request... eek! So, I'm having to hurry now to get those done.

Glad they are feeling better and hopefully the worst is behind them! I could have benefited from braces, but my parents couldn't afford them, so I never got them. We were told at ds's first dental appt at 2 yrs old that he will need braces because his teeth were too perfect and there wouldn't be enough room for his adult teeth to grow in right. But all the dentists since then have said it's too early to tell. I hope he won't need them.

My kids dentist said he'd wait until age 12 or so before he would decide. Their mouths grow and change so much and my ds's still had so many baby teeth at that age anyway!
By age 14 he knew they'd definately have to have them. We only waited so long because the boys will have to pay for it themselves. I could not have afforded it, if it had been just one, maybe.. but not both of them.

Lisa, I was told the same thing as a kid - straight teeth with "close contacts" - but it was never needed. There's lots of hope.

He's saying my dd needs them, but I don't see it. She does have one tooth on the side that turns in a bit, but not bad enough for $5K worth of dental work!
You can't even see it if she smiles and as long as it's not pushing onto another tooth then she'll just live with it.

I tend to believe in erring on the side of caution. If a person can eat, speak & breathe well, and doesn't have a major cosmetic issue - I don't see the point.
