Post subject:  PBS Secrets of Spanish Florida

Watched this with dh. It's amazing the stuff they keep out of history books. Learned about how a search through Spanish archives uncovered the history of their earliest colony here in La Florida. How the Spaniards, Native tribes and Africans all co-existed together, fared much better than in English colonies. I learned a lot about the other side to Sir Francis Drake, not just as Queen Elizabeth's right hand man, but as the fiendish El Draque, as the Spaniard's used to call him.

Definitely worth a sit down for two hours with some popcorn. I couldn't stop watching.

Is it wholesome enuf for elementary aged kids? Can I watch it with DD
