As slow as its moving, I wouldn't be surprised by a class 4 landfall. Rain and floiding isn't the only concern. Winds will be high for many hours non-stop, tornadoes, trees down, etc.

We also have a Coleman propane stove and propane, but I didn't think that would do us any good since we can't use it inside?

After a large storm passes, power may be out for many days. At that point, you can go outside & use it. You're absolutely right about it being pretty useless in the worst of the storm.

Annas right once the storm has passed you ''ll be glad for the stove. Take it outside. Don' t feel weird because others will be cooking out. It becomes a camping trip at home. Back to basics.
As long as nothing is damaged, you'll spend a lot of time waiting for power to be restored.
Board games, drawing, reading, etc... It can be fun if you stay positive.

Oh, ok. I keep forgetting about the after, I'm so used to the power being restored quickly.

We also have a cool weather radio my dad sent us for Christmas a couple years ago. It also charges phones!

And if we and up not needing all our supplies, I'll have a head start on my North Korea stash! ;)

As of 6:30pm, it hit category 4. Corpus Christi residents who had not evacuated already were told it's too late. To make sure they write their SS# on their arms so they can be identified :(

Lord have mercy. It's best to leave to safe shelter. It can always intensity or stall and be relentless.

I saw a bunch of people in Corpus Christi on FB, saying they were going to stay there and "ride it out".
