Lord have mercy. It's best to leave to safe shelter. It can always intensity or stall and be relentless.

Wow. This is how the weather channel quoted it
"We’re suggesting if people are going to stay here, mark their arm with a Sharpie pen with their name and Social Security number," Rockport Mayor Pro Tem Patrick Rios told reporters Friday. "We hate to talk about things like that. It's not something we like to do but it’s the reality, people don’t listen."

unbelievable. :(

Dh had a friend whose family rode out Andrew in Homestead (ground zero, south of Miami). They said they would never do it again. There were tornadoes that ripped through the neighborhood leaving nothing behind but the concrete foundation. Two by fours were flung through concrete block walls. The noise of the storm haunted them.

Don't you ever get TIRED of being right, Tory  ;)

Never!

In this case, I really wish I was wrong.

Praying for those in Harvey's path! Hope you and your family are all right, Lisa! My family and I went through Francis, Jeanne, and Wilma in the space of 13 months. I wouldn't wish it on anyone! Be careful for hidden hazards like downed trees, etc and power lines! Stay safe!

Yeah, me, too.

I don't mind you being right *most of the time*

but it would be better if you were wrong on THIS one.

Just got back to the motel from my nephew's wedding. They are leaving from southern TX on their honeymoon cruise! (IF it's still on.)

Our Shelly B is supposed to be on a cruise out of Galveston, I think. She is waiting somewhere in Tx to find out if they'll be able to go. I read online that there is a cruise ship full of passengers in the Gulf waiting fpr the storm to pass so it can dock!

I also read that the Austin airport was advising people to call them before driving to the airport. (or attempting to drive in that storm).
