Are any of you affected by it?

We are supposed to get hit pretty bad. Our county is under tropical storm and flash flood warning. Lots of wind and rain anticipated for us. We are getting ready and will probably do our grocery shopping today, instead of tomorrow, just to be safe.

You'll be in our prayers, Lisa

Lisa, go today. Store shelves will be empty if you wait. Also make sure you have plenty of fresh water stored for drinking.
Start now.

Thank you!

I feel bad for the people on the coast. I am worried about the creek we have out back. It floods, but has never reached our house. We've never gotten as much rain as they are anticipating this weekend, though. We don't have flood insurance. Guess there's nothing we can do about that now, though.

I'm glad we went shopping tonight. The store was packed and the water was flying off the shelves. We were lucky to get some. H said Walmart was already out of water.

Take any containers you can and fill them with water. Even empty milk cartons. Label rhem for non-drinking because of bacteria but you can use it for flushing toilets, etc.

We ran out of water but thankfully a work buddy of ds's gave us 5 - 5 gallon containers. I kept 2 of the empty ones for future use.

Fill up a bathtub if you need to. You can always scoop out what you need with a bucket.

Another thing if I may. Before it gets bad... Before you lose power.. Wash clothes and everyone get a bath. If you are out of water for 5 - 6 days, you'll be thankful for clean clothes and relatively clean bodies, lol!

Yes praying you are out of the worst of it Lisa! And I second Tory's advice to wash all laundry and dishes and then shower before it starts to get bad. We've lost water before even though we have municipal supply and it was sudden and too late to run any out then. Old detergent bottles are good for hand washing water. With the amount of rain expected, municipal water supplies could be affected. I always make coffee and fill a thermos. That one little normal thing the next morning makes me feel better.

We have family very close to where landfall is expected and they were supposed to leave this evening to evacuate inland. They had been anticipating just a tropical storm until it suddenly turned in to more. Looks like the Houston area will get a lot of it also. Praying for all in the path. It is not a fun thing to experience.

Keep checking in and let us know how you're doing!

It sure never hurts to be prepared. Keep us posted as you can.

Thank you for the advice. While we have had lots of storms and brief power outages, we have never had to go days without power or water, so I feel like I don't know what to do or expect. I hope I got enough water.
