Frozen yogurt pie, raw veggies, sandwiches (my kids love egg salad sandwiches, one douses it in mustard :? ) I see y'all are having a heat wave.

It's been the longest "wave" i remember ever having in the NW. I'm just so very thankful that it cools down at night and that it's been a dry heat. Looks like we could get some (welcome) moisture next week but the temps are staying in the 90's - ugh.

And, 5 of my grands and a dd will be "moving in" for most of the month beginning next thursday!!! :D 8-)

These are good:

Additionally I like Asian Noodles, and Mini muffins (you can eat them outdoors)

If you have an gimmicky appliance like a donut grill, or a cake ball maker, you can take it outside (to keep from heating up the house) and turn out snacks for the kids outdoors. We got a cake ball maker at a thrift store and it is a big hit. I use it to make breakfast when we have a sleepover. (using muffin or waffle batter )

I guess I never really thought about it. Our favorite is watermelon. I buy one every week, we cut it up and eat it throughout the week. There's always a fridgefull of watermelon all summer.

Popsicles and ice cream.

Sub sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches

Potato salad or any salad you eat cold. I have recipes for a cool and refreshing quinoa and avocado salad, and a broccoli salad. Don't think they are very but friendly, though, my kids won't eat them.

Yeah  I guess "kid friendly" DOES depend on which kid you're talking about!

I have one of those kids who will eat the quinoa salad (she's actually eating it right now!) while *I* eat the PB&J!

BTW: PB&J is a great hot weather food :D

Not sure why it autocorrected to "but", lol, I meant kid friendly. I'm so tired of fighting with autoINcorrect.
