It involved 5 cars and trucks, The truck that cause the accident was driven by an 17 yr old who had just picked the truck up from a garage to have the steering fixed, Well, it was not fixed, that garage will be sued to high heaven. He will have guilt the rest of his life. :(

Poor kid! I cannot imagine having to live with that - and it wasn't even his fault : (
My Mom had a mechanic "fix" her brakes - but forgot to hook them back up again. We picked up the car the day before New Year's Eve, and he had gotten lots of gifts of hard alcohol for the holiday. We should have suspected, but we didn't : (
Thank God no one else was hurt in the accident, but it caused my Mom a lot of trouble.

Don't the mechanics test drive their repair vehicles? Around here, the mechanic will drive it around before releasing the car. I mean around for miles, not just around the parking lot. He makes sure his work is solid.

That is sad.
We once had a transmission rebuilt. Drove it 2 miles to a Chick-fil-A for lunch. Came back out to find transmission fluid had poured out from under, we parked on a slope. It looked like the van was bleeding (tranny fluid is pinkish). So glad we didn't just drive home, 30 miles away. The shop boss came out and apologized, someone didn't put the cap back on. He filled it with fluid, drove it around, gave us t-shirts with their logo. Never used that shop again.
