Anybody know Sid the Science Kid?

Little One saw an ad for this on another show video she got from the library. She wants to check it out.

I think science is great. Atheistic propaganda & constant plugs for Evolution, not so good ; )

What do you know about this show? Does it teach little-kid science basics without a constant push for why we should believe in a materialistic universe?

I haven't been able to discover the answer by internet search so far.

I have never heard of Sid the Science Kid! I have heard of Bill Nye the Science Guy...but that has been a while back!

We've seen it a few times and I thought it was dumb and my kids weren't all that into it, either. I don't remember evolution being pushed, but that doesn't mean it's not there in any of the episodes. I do remember an environmentalist agenda in at least one of the episodes. I don't remember much of the educational stuff and it didn't seem very "sciency" to me, not at all like Bill Nye. There are episodes on getting shots, washing your hands, etc. Even an episode on Sid and his friends being bored on a day off school, so they put on a show for his parents, singing science related songs. Not very sciency. Maybe watch the episode before she watches it, just to make sure?

Thanks, Lisa. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't too harmful. I can field the occasional off-comment, but don't want her to fall in love with a show only to find out its nothing but propaganda.

I don't mind if it's not too sciency - I can teach her that stuff. If it makes her like the subject and entertains her, that's all I expect from most videos.
