Why are there eight GINORMOUS-sized pics of a recipe before the recipe on so many websites now? What happened to ONE pic of final product? Some have step by step pics - ok, fine (AFTER the recipe please) but some just have the same finished pic several times!!! :roll:

Yeah. Drives me nuts too. Writers *think* that photography is what makes them money - and to some extent that is true. But they get a little to greedy with all those pics!

(and, they're almost never pics of something healthy!)

My fav cookbook has no pics. So everything I make is a surprise. Nothing ever comes out like the pics anyway.

Firefox has an add-on that removes pictures (nearly all images) when you're surfing. I think it's called "Block Images." I find it quite handy to turn on when I expect a site to have pics I don't want. For example, if I'm reading the news, I don't necessarily want all the gruesome images of a catastrophic event for DD to see.

I tend to click out if I have to scroll past too much stuff to get to the "meat" of any article.
