sigh I probably already know the answer, at least for myself. But here's the situation. I'm hired to fill-in for my co-workers if they're sick, vacations, appointments, sick kids, whatever. Well, my bff is here for this week - monday noon til early friday morning. Here it is the end of wednesday and i've seen her for a couple hours on monday.
We were GOING to have tuesday and thursday for each other but then i had to work tuesday because co-workers' kid was sick - 101 fever, throwing up, sick.
Today - the day my bff went fishing with her son and grands for the day and into the night possibly - i had off cuz co-workers' dh stayed home with the toddler. 
Now i'm being asked to work tomorrow. sigh I did message her that i *wondered* if she and her dh could switch off/on days and i'd be happy to work friday instead of tomorrow. I'm waiting to hear.
