Our air conditioning went out. Fan inside and outside are not blowing. He is coming out tomorrow, good thing it is payday and I have some money not a lot in the savings account.
It is only five years old and of course warranties do not last that long.
Please pray it does not cost a lot to fix.

I second your UGH. Ours went out a few days ago for the second time this year, but different problem. It was a part that costs $7.50...plus his $85.00 labor for the couple minutes it took him to swap out the part. I told dh as soon as ds is old enough for community college, we are sending him for a/c, plumbing or electrical licenses, maybe all of the above! I have half a mind to go myself and take some of these classes.

I hope yours is a simple and inexpensive fix and that you can keep as cool as you can in the meantime.

I feel your pain. When I was pregnant with my 2nd child our air conditioner went out. Of course my husband had to be away on business and it was 103 degrees outside! Now we keep an air conditioning wall unit on hand just incase a repair man can't get out here right away. Came in handy after 2 hurricanes too! ;)

Well, I thought about something, when the lights or power goes out inside the house, you check the fuses.
I went outside figured out how to open the switch box and I had the air inside cut off, and pulled the hand thing out and blew in it to get dust out and put it back in and closed it, went in the house turned on the air had dd tell me if the compressor outside came on and she said yes.
It is blowing but it is hot in here, but more than likely need freon, well not freon what ever they put in it now,
A year after we had it , it did the same thing and red ants had eaten through some wires on the compressor outside.
I did not see any ant beds around it.
So praying it is a switch or something like that does not cost an arm and a leg and have him check the freon, and that runs 200 or more a lb to put in. Lord have mercy and let it be simple.

They are attracted to the electrical current. Odd isn't it?

So sorry Linda. having just gone through this already I know what you are going through. I am a sissy. I had him out at 1am so we wouldn't go without for long. It was done by 3pm. Of course I had worse case scenario and needed all new stuff. I pray you don't. We are fortunate and have lifetime warrantee on the condenser and 10 years on the rest parts and labor.

I told dh we had better luck with the one that was in the house when we bought it, it was 15 yrs old at the time. Told it would last five more years and it did, but we had it replaced because it was making a lot of noise. and Goodman had a sale. It only cost us 3,000 at the time.
It seems to be a little cooler in here this morning, only because the weather outside is cooler.
Hoping and praying that it is just the thermostat, it does not shut off for a long time till the numbers are both the same. that does not seem right.
they were out here earlier this year because we kept hearing a rattleing in the unit it self. He just needed to tighten a few screws then. I just cannot figure out why it came back on once I pulled the switch outside and put it back in. Unless there is a short there and I hope that is not it. It cold of been dust .
I just do not want all my savings to disappear today because of this.
Everyone please pray about this, will let you know later today what went on.
