Our bank changed over to a new system, took them three days. FUn FUn,
then could not log in, was on the phone two hours trying to figure out what the heck they did.
I am too old to be messing with stuff like that. Way to old.
I donot and will not do banking over my phone. Period.

Well, I know what you mean about being too old to be messing with that kind of stuff!

If it were me, I would probably cry now AND later! And then go have some chocolate! :D

My bank also upgraded their online system. Not my main bank, but the one I keep just for my credit card. I tried logging in today and it was all different and it took me awhile to figure it out and it was frustrating! I do not like changes like that coming out of nowhere when it's been the same way for along time. Luckily, I didn't have to get on the phone with them, though.

My bank changed theirs too!! Then told me it was "me" that couldn't sign on.
NO.. I've been doing banking online for a long time and I do know a little bit about what I'm doing.
grrrr.. It IS so frustrating! I finally had to create a whole new account and even now I can't access all the time like I used to be able to.

Cry it out Linda!! I can only imagine what those who are 80+ must go through with all the changes they have been through in their life time. I definitely have my comfort zones with technology and all, I don't want anyone messing with it!!!

Why not just change banks? I'm a passbook savings kinda person (don't even use checks) - I wouldn't be happy with being forced into an upgrade.

For me, I'm in the process of changing banks. The account I can't get online for anymore is going bye-bye, lol!

Don't you just love it when they act like you are an idiot. THe site did not say that you had to have a new id and new password. That is what messed me up. I was able to get on there this morning. I donot like the fact that it displays balances right there when you log on. not happy with that.

They are all going to where you can do stuff on your phone . I told her I do not intend to use the phone for my banking.
You will not be able to find a bank or credit union that will not have it where you use the phone to bank, process checks, do deposits, etc. That is what is sad.

I prefer a credit union over a bank any day. Not too many in this area. Plus it is a pain to change.
As long as the way they have changed it to stays that way till Christ comes back I am ok with it. But yesterday was pure hell.

A friend, who is in charge our town's University computer system, told me never, ever do any banking (he won't even purchase items on line) on line because of hacking. He said you'd be suprised at how often systems get breached.

I just went with my son yesterday to our local bank to get his very first checking account set up. At first I sat outside the office while he discussed it with the bank rep., but kept my ears open. I eventually went into the office because they were going to give him an account that would cause him to incurr monthly fees. They also wanted to give him a debit card and on-line banking account. I had him decline both. I also inquired further about how we could get him an account without the fees--something they didn't offer to him when he sat there alone. Mission accomplished--no fees--no debit card--no online banking! I asked my son afterwards if he was embarrassed that I came in and asked questions. Thankfully, he said he was glad I did.
