How do y'all tackle the everyday cleaning-type chores? Do you just clean as the Spirit moves, or do you have a system?
I am TRYING a new "system" but don't know how long I'll last!
I've divided up the house so that we do a major room or area each day of the week. (Not counting our bedrooms....and this also does not include chores like cooking or laundry....just cleaning.)
Anyway, yesterday we cleaned the living room. It is a very large room with two picture windows and a glass door (all of which were cleaned inside AND out). Floors vacuumed and damp mopped (they are hardwood, so I used a sponge mop with a solution of water and vinegar), baseboards and window sills wiped and cleaned; furniture dusted, etc. I was pooped, but it sure looks nice. We did the same with the Dining Room today, but it was easier. Only one picture window and one glass door. Not as much furniture, but two built in shelves with lots of "stuff" to take down and clean. Still, it wasn't as hard.
Tomorrow is the kitchen. I may not make it!
I am hoping though, that if we get into a routine of doing it regularly, we won't have to clean as much or as "hard." I like it when the house is really clean.
We also have a van-load of stuff to take to Goodwill today. And that always makes me feel good!
But I need a nap now.
