He's leaving on a jet plane!!!...

My oldest son is just this minute boarding a plane in Miami and headed to Manaous, Brazil! His final destination is Pimenta Bueno, Brazil....deep into the interior. He - and his team - will be helping to build a wood-working shop and 2 classrooms. This is a seminary/bible/practical skills school for the native Indians, who can then go back into the remote villages where no one else can go and reach those who haven't heard the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. We are so excited for him! Please keep him and his team in your prayers.

I guess I should have posted this on the prayer board! :oops:

They arrived yesterday evening and started work today. He has some great pictures on FB, but I don't know how to "share" them. He has a picture of his sleeping accomodations - a roof held up by four posts with a bunch of hammocks hanging from the roof!!!

They will be building a wood-working shop and 2 classrooms. The foundations for these have already been laid which saves them about 5 days work. Pray for the 20 team members - for strength and endurance (especially in the heat). He is so charged up and excited!

This will be such a blessing to all. Encourage him to take a siesta if the heat is bad - we've learned that the hard way when working/living abroad.

That's wonderful, I'm sure he will have a wonderful time even with a full schedule and all that he'll be doing.

I will be praying that he will be encouraged, and really be able to help with all of the projects he will have to do.

And also that he will remain safe, and healthy as he travels. :-)
