My name is Darla and I'm the homeschooling mom of seven kids: 18yos, 16yod, 14yod, 12yos, 10yod, 6yos and 4yos. Those last two are going to keep us young! We've always homeschooled and love it. I work part time (see my signature below) and I love what I do. I'm so thankful for that! (If I have to work, I'm thankful it's at something I really enjoy!) Our family was baptized into the Eastern Orthodox Church in 2010, after 20+ years in the Protestant tradition (which I remain very thankful for!). We attend a local mission parish. In my spare time I like to get together with friends, and in the evenings when my husband is working and my kids are in bed, I confess to a bit of an obsession with the tv show Monk.

I am Scott. My wife and I are homeschooling our daughter (6) and son (3). "Application Architect" by day and erstwhile author by night. I am highly active in local politics in our part of Arkansas (I have helped get issues on ballots, get issues passed, get issues defeated, get candidates elected, and get candidates defeated). I went to the public schools myself 20+ years ago and know how much worse they are today. I preach on occasion and teach Bible classes pretty regularly for teens and/or adults.

Okay, I guess I can put my intro here as well. My first name really is Kysa and I live on a dairy farm in South Dakota. My own two children are long ago graduated from homeschool and then college on good scholarships. I have 4 3/4 grandchildren (the first boy is due in August). I have been homeschooling the 5 year old although her education major mother has chosen to place her in a public school. Thankfully, she chose the best one around here (24 miles away).
My hobby is horses, and I have a tack store here on our farm. I also babysit my granddaughters while the parents are at Farmers Markets. My son lives next door (with all my granddaughters) and has a farmers market garden here on our farm. It is kind of fun to have all the adults working here on the farm where the little girls can watch.

I'm Pam. My husband and 5 kids all live in the same town in the high desert of Colorado. We have been homeschooling for 12+ years with three graduated and two to go. My oldest three all started in public school, the youngest two have never been, but have taken a couple classes at a local Christian Classical School where I help out as their Administrative Assistant.

We started our home learning journey doing "school at home" complete with little desks in a designated classroom area. Over the years we have transitioned numerous times as we became more comfortable and as our children's needs changed, or became apparent. We have always been eclectic in our materials, and are most comfortable now doing more of an unschooling approach, which has brought our family closer and our learning levels higher - earlier. I love the freedom to do what works best for our family no matter where we may find ourselves living. Since I am a gypsy at heart, I am often moving, even if it is only the furniture or traveling in my mind. :)

Oh, and we have our first grandbaby!!! He will be 6 months soon. What a joy he is.

I am Neesa, widowed mom of two children (16yo dd & 12yo ds). We've been homeschooling from the very beginning. I am a Director of our local Classical Conversations community. My hobbies would be music (listener only since I have no musical talent), running (I've run 3 half marathons and have 3 more coming up), I'm also a techie girl and love my laptop and iPhone. My kids keep me super busy. DD has been a Girl Scout for 11 years and earned her Bronze and Silver awards. She has 2 more years to go and is planning on earning her Gold award. She loves music and has played piano for 8 years. DS has been a Boy Scout for a year after having earned his Arrow of Light and Super Achiever for Cub Scouts. He is now on the local YMCA's swim team and is loving it. I'm thankful that God has provided for my children's stability after having lost their father at a young age.

I am Lisa. Married for 8 yrs. We have ds(7), dd (5), and a baby boy due in Oct. I was a medical/neuro technician in the Air Force for 8 yrs and happily gave up my career a year and a half ago, to be a full time SAHM and homeschool my kids.

We moved to Central Texas last year to be close to dh's family and since I have lived all my life up North, I sometimes whine like a baby about life down here, but I'll eventually get used to it.

I love going places and seeing new things, the outdoors (camping, hiking), reading, writing, and taking pictures of nature

Hi. I'm Laura Jean (laurajean) from the heart of Georgia. I've been married 30 years and have 3 children...all homeschooled. My oldest ds is 26; graduated college, has a good job, and is going on a mission trip (again) this Aug to Pimento Bueno, Brazil. He is helping to build a school for the Indians, so that they can go back into the interior and reach the ureached. He has been out on his own for 5/6 years now - - - but just down the street! My next ds will be 21 in August. He went to tech school while also completing his homeschool requirements. He now has a great job as an aircraft electrician. He is always busy doing something! Both boys are "flying the coop" THIS WEEK. They are moving into an apartment together in the neighboring town 30 miles away - NOT down the street boohoo!! It is where they work, though, and they will both be house-hunting in that area as well, so it is a good move. I have one dd - 13 - left at home. She stays busy, busy, busy...her goal each day is to spend as much time outside as possible....VERY active!!!!! She loves fish, birds, books, and animals of all kinds...and anything pertaining to nature. She also takes piano lessons and has done very well.

Now that the nest is emptying, and the boys are taking about a third of my furniture, we will be busy working on the house. It is easier to paint and "fix up" rooms when they are emptier! And maybe we will even sell this big 'ol place and down size...which would be nice!

I also have my parents - they are still in pretty good shape, considering their ages (83 and 78) but I try to check in on them and help them as much as possible. They live 4 hours away and the trip seems to get longer each time I go! And the older they get, the more frequent the trips become. I know my time with them is running out, so I want to enjoy them as much as I possibly can, while I still can! I would LOVE to have a part-time job of some sort, but between being needed at home and still homeschooling one, and being "on-call" for my parents, it's hard to come up with something that is "do-able!"

Right now - it is just HOT!!! Boy, is it ever HOT
