I was thinking today of some great products I'd like to recommend as Christmas gifts - & it occurred to me that they can be bought from those who advertize on HSC - a win-win!

A book for Christians concerned about the attacks on Christianity within our culture - informative, inspiring, funny (occasionally a tad to irreverent for my tastes). A great call to action. If you have someone on your list who is interested in Christianity & political action, they'll like this gift.

Many thanks to Tory for recommending this a long time ago. My DD has watched this non-stop this year (it's 40 episodes!) and she is now WAY better informed than I on the Revolutionary War!

The Island by Victoria Hislop

I seldom read novels, but this one is 20th century historical & is set on Crete & caught my eye. I haven't yet read it all, so I don't yet know if it is suitable for all audiences. So far, the romance is not offensive, although occasionally a little melodramatic (which is to say, I wouldn't be upset if I found a 14 year old family member reading it). I love the cultural setting & general Greek feel of the book. The author is a good storyteller. This book inspired the #1 Greek language miniseries of all time. I hope to update this when I've finished it.

Anyone else have any great ideas for stuff to buy for Christmas from Affiliates of HSC?
