Dh's boss!

All employees got their bonuses last Wednesday, except dh and the other GM. His boss said he needed more time to calculate (their bonus is a percentage of the money their stores made), but they would receive it by the end of the week. Here it is, Wed of the following week, and nothing. Dh always feels the need to defend his boss, saying he's busy with the construction of his new shopping center. Don't tell people something if you're not going to do it, and then not even give them an explanation or anything!

Not like we've been waiting for that money for any of the events coming up in the near future or anything! I guess I shouldn't even think about the raise dh is supposed to get this month! :evil:

Lisa, I have learned over the last 24 yrs that when dh tells me he is getting a bonus etc, I donot believe it , till I see it deposited in the bank.
Also I had worked for companies that couldnot pay you till they had the money from the people that owed them in the bank to make out payroll checks. If he is doing a construction site and is depending on them to pay him or whoever then you may have to wait till he has that money in the bank.
Back in the 80's a lot and I mean a lot of companies had to wait to pay their employees for people paying them, and a lot of them did not get the money from people that owed them,
that is a lot of the reason why now a days , doctors want their money up front.
Praying his boss is not lying and will get him his bonus when he can.

Good chance that the boss is waiting for the money to arrive but is embarrassed to say so. When the check arrives, take it to the bank it is written on, and ask them to check & make sure adequate funds are in the account before you "present" it (that way it can't bounce). If the funds aren't there, wait a few days and try again. I have saved a lot of headaches that way with checks - when all my co-workers didn't have paychecks and had to wait for bank hassles from bouncing checks, but I had mine with no hassles.

Good advice Anna,
one company I worked for years ago, they gave us our checks and we could not cash them, Talk about p*****. Needless to say most of us left after the check cleared.

Well, he had plenty of money to give everyone else their bonuses, except the two hardest working people, so ???

Except the two most trusted, most patient people. He gave money to those he trusted less, and expected his most faithful people to wait. It's the same way we tend to treat our families - consider it a sort of left-handed compliment.
