I'm taking my Paul to the DMV to see if they'll let him try for his drivers license.
Please pray they will go ahead and let him. If not, we'll make an appointment and have to go back sometime.
Today is the first day of public school so I'm hoping the long lines of last week are gone now. :D

Yes, the public schools here are starting WAY earlier this year. It seems each year they go earlier and earlier. The parents have voted down year-round schools several years in a row but the BOE is slowly making it that way anyway by just working the schedule towards that end.

As for ds... the DMV was way crowded. I can't imagine why it's so busy so much lately. They must having some computer problems or something. They are usually not this crowded all of the time. Anyway, he wasn't able to take the test because of the amount of people already in line, so we go back in the morning and try again.
It is for the best though. There was a problem with his debit card so we had to go to the bank and get that straightened out. Now that problem is taken care of so when he passes his test he can just go straight to the insurance co. and get the policy in place for him to drive. :)
He was wanting to drive himself to church tonight but I reminded him that the Lord has reasons for things and we just have to acccept things we can't change. He'll be driving soon!
It's funny because leaving the DMV and going to the bank, we experienced some pretty dicey driving conditions that ds has never had to deal with before... it got my heart thumping to say the least! But he did ok. Then on the way home we had construction and one lane road closures, so more traffic situations for him.
I do feel he's ready to drive, but there are days like today when I just want him to pull over and let me drive!

DD still does not like to drive, but she knows she has to. We pray before she leaves for school in the mornings. She prays before she leaves the parking lot.
I feel better that way, knowing that we have asked God to put angels around her and the car and for the people around her to drive correctly.

Praying!

A prayer before driving is always a good idea - for any age or experience level : )

SPeaking of public schools,
I really dislike this school district, so glad I do not have to deal with them, except for our taxes. they put something on the ballot and even when it fails ,they just pass it along, so they get what they want. Everything they do is illegal. People in this town are idiots for allowing the school board and president to do as they D**m well please.
They need to have year round school here, way too many students get in wrecks, fights, killing one another or other people. Better off in school.
They actually had a kid at the 2nd high school walk right in with a rifle one day. No one said a word, a girl had to turn him in. all the other students did not give a crap.

Ds is very eager to drive. He's at that "over convident" stage and I do worry he'll make a stupid mistake just because he's getting cocky.
He had two seperate motorist blow their horn at him yesterday, both things his fault.
This is a hard step for me.. letting him go off on his own... once he passes his test though, he'll drive himself as often as he can. It's just the natural order of things. Whenever we go someplace now, he's behind the wheel with the car cranked before I even get out of the house, lol!
