what would it be?

On Julie and Julia, Julie took on the challenge of cooking every recipe in Julia Child's recipe book in a year. She blogged about her journey. (And then it became a movie!)

Is there something that you would challenge yourself to complete in that fashion? What? and why?

Good question. I loved that movie. I'm not sure what would hold my attention long enough, and also hold me accountable. I'm so bad at sticking with things and finishing them. Even my blog that I keep now for me and my family-my dedication to it comes and goes. When I stayed at home I was a lot more faithful to my online endeavors than I am now. I look forward to hearing others responses though.

It certainly doesn't have to be a year's commitment like in the movie. ;)

Some things came to my mind....losing weight or your journey in trying to lose weight, kicking an addiction...too much tv, computer, OCD tendencies, wearing your hair in different styles and fashions, etc. What really attracted me to the movie, Julie & Julia is that this person was an ordinary person with an ordinary struggle that we all have, and she just wrote about her experiences.

I actually have a weight loss blog but I get no where with it. Mainly because I can't seem to make permanent changes.

I'd definitely be afraid to start a public blog because I have never stuck to anything like that.

I did a blog of my first half marathon journey. I got so far with it then forgot to update!! By the time I got back to it, the race was over and I was so far behind blogging that it felt awkward to keep posting to it, lol!
I would love to start another one but can't think of anything I'm interested in enough to stick with it. Perhaps a triathlon one day????
As for the cooking one. I'm very impressed that she was able to work full time and then feel like coming home and cooking every single night like that.

This is one area where you need to "think outside the box." Whether you are taking classes for the first time in a long time ... or planting a garden or any kind of "experiment" on your part.

I've been blogging about writing (and other stuff). Blogging chapters of my current project, blogging about developing plot ideas and characters and how/why I am making various decisions. Blogging about ways to publish (online, co-publishing,etc.)

You'd also have to be financially able to continue with it. The Julie must have had financial security to be able to afford to cook like that every single night. I'm sure with her and dh both working and having no dc was a help for her blog challenge.
