I have an overwhelmingly strong preference for print resources over video or audio (spoken) information resources.

I hate it when a news story is only accessible in video form - since I don't really like to watch videos.

If someone emails me a video link (or posts it on here), I often don't watch it - unless there is some sort of an explanation of what I'm getting and why I should override my anti-video prejudice to get this particular bit of information.

I don't like going to lectures, or webinars. I would rather read an article or book than listen to a podcast or radio program.

I just want someone to hand me something to READ!

(not talking about entertainment/movies/music - just information stuff)

Am I the only weird one out there in this regard- or do I have company?

I can't stand watching videos on the news websites like CNN. Just give me the printed article so I can scan it myself. Too much time involved in the videos.

I'd rather read. My computer doesn't load video's anyway. If it's only available by video I can't see it online.
If I remember to, I can watch it when I go visit my mom because she has broadban but it's rare for me to be THAT interested in something. Usually the ones I'll make a point to watch are the ones posted on here or FB of people's dc singing at church or acting in a play, etc.
I rarely take time to watch a news clip when I'm over there.

Yes, I would rather read. I don't have the time for videos, nor do they interest me.

I prefer to read also, when it comes to the news. I pass up a lot of news stories because they are video only. I do like listening to some lectures and stuff if they're interesting enough. I like listening to them while I'm doing dishes, folding laundry, etc. But usually I prefer to read.

I agree, Lisa, if there's a multi-tasking benefit. Back when I commuted to work, I liked books on tape and language cd's because I could read or study while driving.
