Mine are a bust! My pool pump is leaking and after a month of working on it, it's still not fixed. SO that means our cookout/pool party is cancelled.
We figured instead we'd just go the aparment pool and then have a tailgate party at the high school while waiting for fireworks...
guess what?? They are shooting off fireworks as we speak. We thought they were Wed. and they are TONIGHT!!! We can hear them.
Now I gotta make backup plans for my backup plan.
  <---either laugh or cry at this point!

Staying out of the heat and get through with the season 6 of Lost. Get some rest , have to be up at 5am the day after to go to the surgery center for hand surgery at 6:45 and hopefully be home by 9 or 10.

Tory surely they will do the fire works on the 4th. I know when we lived in Garland they did it the weekend and then the day of.
Have not heard if they will be doing it here in our town this year or not. Have not seen anything about it. To me it does not need to be done, a waste of money for any city to be doing.

They won't do them at the high school again this year. They will have them in the city, but we won't drive into the city for them. It's too far, too crowded, and too many drunk drivers to deal with afterwards.
The high school is only a 10 minute drive. :(
I'm just so let down. WHY have them so early??? I KNOW it's a Saturday but the holiday is Wed and they could have had them on the 4th not June 30th!! It was so hot last night, too!!
It probably IS a waste of money, but life it too short to not have some fun. I like that we are still able to celebrate our nations bd. I believe one day we won't be able to do anything to celebrate being an American.

No fireworks in our area of CO, perhaps not anywhere in CO due to fire risk and all fires already burning, so we will probably watch a movie and stay in out of the heat.

There is a patriotic parade on the 4th, so we will probably "march" in that. There is a fireworks show at night and our church is also having a potluck at one of the couple's houses with a ton of activities, so I might take the kids to that. Dh will probably be working. He's not sure yet if they will open late or close early.

Some places around here are doing the same thing. We do not currently have a fire issue, but that is what they want to prevent.

My family and another are taking food over to our Pastor and his wife's house for a cookout. We are all cooking it ahead of time and just eating it there. Then we will go to church that night.

Our church isn't having any services at all on the 4th.
If it doesn't cool down then we'll probably just stay indoors.
My dc were invited to a pool party today for a boy from church's bd party. Heat index was about 113 all day so I wouldn't let them go. It's just too hot. I'm sure the pool water is 85 degrees anyway!!

Could you do your own fireworks? There are firework stands all over here, but I'm not brave enough to do our own, unless dh is going to be here to light them, lol.
