I'll be going to the library later this week and I need some ideas.
Are you reading anything interesting these days?
Thanks!

It depends on what you want to read. I like fiction and love Karen Kingsbury. She has written several series and just ended a three book story. It was called the Bailey Flannigan series. I'm reading the last book now it's called Loving. The first book was called Learning and the second one was called Longing. She's a christian writer so you don't have to worry about the content.
If you don't want fiction I've been reading a really good book called If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Water by John Ortberg. It's about the story of Peter walking on water and talks to you about the importance of doing like Peter and trusting the Spirit and do things that you fear instead of just sitting there doing only things you feel comfortable with. God expects us to be like Peter and use the Spirit to help us through things not be like the other disciples in the boat and sit there in fear or because they don't want to do anything different.

I just finished devouring the 5th out of 6 books by Dee Henderson...the O'Malley series! I am totally in love with this series. This is the book series I won in the raffle. Love it!

Are there any categories you like?

Fiction - romance, scifi, historical, etc
Non-fiction- science, religion, biography, etc?

Might give us a better idea of what to suggest.

But Anna, the question is: Are YOU reading anything interesting? lol!
I like to hear what others are reading and what they like.
I don't know what I'm looking for. I've read most everything in my own interest's section. I need/want to explore other areas.

Stacy, I knew those looked good!! :)

Well, I never know if a book is worth recommending till I finish it!

I'm not sure I'm actively reading anything right now - I'm going thru boxes of old newspaper & magazine clippings for my current reading. And browsing my old books as I cull my collection.

But, I could recommend lots of books I've already finished : )

Of course, the Bible is always a "current selection" but I'm assuming you're already aware of that one ; )

I haven't been reading much besides my Bible and Sunday school material, but I recently finished Mere Christianity and The Screwtape Letters. I never knew C.S Lewis was a Universalist and an Evolutionist. Interesting. But besides those huge flaws, there was lots of good stuff in those books. Screwtape Letters felt like he was writing about me.

I'm just finishing a really interesting book called "Grand Canyon: A Different View" by Tom Vail. It has beautiful pictures and describes the evidence for the Grand Canyon being formed from the great flood, instead of the evolutionist view. It has contributions from Ken Ham, John McArthur and many other people.

I LOVE to read so here are a few of my favorite authors.

Joanne Fluke-She writes a series about a baker named Hannah Swenson who solves murder mysteries. This is not a christian author, but I have never ran acrossed anything I objected to.

Karen Kingsbury-love her books, but they always make me cry, so if that will bother you just beware. I have ran into people who dislike them because of the emotions they bring out.

Craig Parshall-He writes legal drama like John Gresham, but is christian.

Mindy Starns Clark- christian mystery writer

Brock and Bodie Thoene-Historical Fiction, mostly set around WWI & II. One or two of their series is set in Isreal around the time of the war for freedom in the 60's.

I have a bunch more so if you want more suggestions I can give them to you.

Have fun at the library! It is my favorite place to go, well next to church. :)

I have The Screwtape Letters on hold for me at the library. I can't wait to get it. I had no idea he was an evolutionist.
