Back in the old days . . .

The other day I was reading dd a chapter book. In the story, the parents were sitting reading the paper over their morning coffee. DD didn't seem to understand the scene. So, I told her, "You know how Mommy gets up in the morning and drinks coffee while she checks the computer? Well, before we had the internet, people used to get the newspaper and read IT while they had their coffee." (she has SEEN a newpaper, since her Godparents get one)

She started laughing and said, "That's Funny!" :lol:

I'm an inbetweener. My dad read the paper and now we check the puter but inbetween those two, I used to watch the morning "news" programs before work.

I'm glad you put "news" in quotes - those shows were horrible! (I assume they still are- but I haven't seen one in years)

Her Godparents still do that, too - only she's never been at their house at breakfast time to witness this strange custom ; )
