DH is having a busy season at work - Saturday is full of work at home tasks for him. (Not complaining - grateful for gainful employment.)

So, I was looking forward to a long, boring day. But, next week promises to be busy for me.

So, in my "spare" time, I made pancakes for breakfast, 4 entrees for next week (so we won't be forced to eat out when we don't even want to), 2 loaves of bread and 8# of dough, 1/2 gallon of salsa, 3 batches of cooked lentils to use in recipes.

Now, once my gimpy back is rested up, to clean the kitchen and make dinner . . . .

I LOVE batch cooking : )

WOW! Good job, Anna! Now you are all ready for your busy week. It will surely pay off in the long run. :D

Cool! So, do you freeze the dough?

Ah, I use the "Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day" recipes. They *can* be frozen, but since they keep in the fridge 2 weeks or so - well, I've never really needed to : )

I can take it out as needed for pizzas, loaf bread, foccacia, naan, etc.

I often bake 4 loaves at a time (boule shape), so 8# is two batches. One WW, one White.

For a "boring" day you sure are getting a lot done!!
My dc are all gone this afternoon to various friends homes... so I'm taking advantage!
I have laundry going and dishes are next. Then I'll dust and break down the puzzle that I've given up on and get my table cleaned and wiped down.
I always get more done when my dc are not home.

Sounds like you're having a pretty productive day : )

My cooking's all put away in the fridge or freezer, kitchen clean (well, for me anyway ; ), tummies full. A load of laundry folded & bathroom & wood floor cleaned, too.

My back was out for a week, so I had a lot of catching up to do - it's still not all done.
