Its history, stats, how its changing. I was part of it for six years ending in 2006, and just now starting again. Not sure I like the changes, but I see why they were made. The two reasons I started in the first place was the hymns and thorough, verse by verse study. They have cut back on the hymns  At least last week they sang one of my favorites, Just as I Am. The best altar call hymn.

I miss hymns. Our BSF didn't have any singing.

I'm thankful our church does verse by verse studies. :) I do miss the wonderful ladies fellowship at the BSF meetings, tho'.

I don't like change in general! :geek:

It worries me when Christian groups try to change to "attract young people who are hostile to the Church." Too often what I see happening is that they try to become the world to be "attractive" to the world. Hope they're not headed that way.

It seems to me that young people, meanwhile, are DYING for some tradition & meaning & history & standards in their lives.

I do think that it's nice that they got a website for outreach. What's the rush? ; )

In my experience, BSF is one of the "foundation" groups. They have good solid teaching. The way they have changed in our group anyway is that they now allow you to chime in even if you haven't done your homework. I found the homework quite daunting so i would seldom speak the first 2 years i went!!!

Yes, I have heard good things about them in the past -
just hope the change is a good thing, too : )

And - the homework - well - that's one of the big reasons I've never tried the group. I've read my Bible- I'm familiar with it - so "homework" just sounds like busy work to me. But, additionally, I'm not much of a "joiner."
