Not my thing.

I think of the verse from the story of the Rich Man & Lazarus.

"Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’ 30“But he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!’ 31“But he said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’”

We have the Church and the Holy Scriptures. They make very clear what our relationship with God should be & what our duties are.

Why do people feel like they need to look for some urgent miraculous sign when Christ discouraged seeking signs & wonders?


Matthew 12:39
Jesus replied, "A wicked and adulterous generation demands a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

The passage in Matthew was meant for the hardened Jews who questioned Jesus' claim as the Messiah. They wanted more signs, aside from the miracles they had already witnessed, the prophecies fulfilled, etc.

The video is referencing the signs written in the heavens since the beginning. Ancient people knew how to read these signs:

Psalms 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.

Amos 5:8
He made the Pleiades and Orion;
He turns the shadow of death into morning
And makes the day dark as night;
He calls for the waters of the sea
And pours them out on the face of the earth;
The Lord is His name.

You have a point, Briva, that's another way of looking at it : )

I certainly don't deny that God communicates thru the heavens.

I'm troubled when people seem to imply, "The stars just told me Jesus' return is this year!" when the Scriptures say that no one knows the day or the hour.

But, if this approach produces good fruit in someone else, I've no trouble with that : )

I just HAVE to point out that it says no man know the DAY nor the HOUR - nothing about the YEAR! Of course, i could have also said it says no MAN knows.... :mrgreen:

You're reminding me of the Mom at my Jr. High school. She'd say, "The Bible says 'Fathers provoke not your children to wrath' but I'm a MOM - *I'm* allowed!" :roll:
