"What's wrong with this picture" is that the second one is anti-Biblical. Non-Adamic peoples? seriously?
But, other than that, the do show the three groups settling in pretty much the same places. Shemites became "Semites," Hamites settled in Africa, and Japhethites headed toward Europe.
It is hard to find modern discussions of this topic that are balanced, because some folks with bad motives used these passages as an excuse to have slaves. And, for that reason it's hard to trust any of the sources one does find.
I would use a google or a Bible Encyclopedia/dictionary to look up the names of the individual people. For instance you can find that, "Javan" was the ancient word for Greece : ) (Not that the Greek people are more interesting than any other, or anything ; )
It's kind of weird to me that there are people that "believe" in Shem, Ham and Japheth and yet also believe there were other people groups.
