It's not like it's a new thing. We experienced a similar "evacuation" in the late 60's/early 70's. Have you seen Woodlawn? That was part of the "done" movement. |

Nope - not buyin' it. This guy has an unfounded (and IMO implausible) assumption that the "most mature" believers are leaving the Church because someone hurt their feelings by "judging" them. Mature Christians are supposed to forgive when sinned against (granted, not easy), not "take their football and go home." |

Kind of like our *other* conversation, I think it depends on the experiences you've had. I totally agree with what you said here, Anna. And that word "judging" gets thrown around in such silly ways these days. OTOH, what passes for "church" in a lot of "churches" is anything but church. |

They sound like a bunch of cry babies, looking for an excuse not to go to church. In reality, most churches are not discerning ENOUGH. Exactly the reason I left my old church and found a Biblical one that practices church discipline. |

Exactly the reason I left my old church and found a Biblical one that practices church discipline. I can agree with those sentiments. There's a fine line here of leaving a church that is teaching wrong doctrine and one that just makes you uncomfortable. Funny how they say "we didn't leave the church, we ARE the church" and yet they are (possibly) leaving the church. Stand and BE the church or find one that is teaching proper doctrine. |
