Six years ago today my dh had his motorcycle accident.
He came home but died the next day after collapsing at home in front of myself and our three dc.
I'm just not dealing with this anniversary very well.
Last year I was ok and just went on not really thinking about it, but for some reason, six years seems like so long ago.
I miss him. I know we had our problems but we had a nearly 15 year marriage together and were working on things. I wish we could have had more time.
Please pray for me. I don't handle crying very well and I now I'd be better if I could just grieve without holding stuff in.

Tory, just let yourself cry it out. Crying in the shower seems to be a great place to do so, so if the tears keep flowing and it is bothering you that others might see, then off to the shower for you my dear!

Grief has no set time frame, and is known to come knocking at unsuspecting times. Let it in and embrace it for a moment in time, then find some joy filled activity to balance things out.

I feel pretty bad right now. Bad headache I think from all the crying last night.
Still pretty weepy. DD is cooking dinner so at least I don't have to worry about that.

That is SO sweet of her. So sorry that you're feeling bad. I know the situation won't change, but remember the amount of pain you feel at any given moment will change.

I heard a story once of an uneducated but wise old man who was asked what his favorite Bible verse was. He replied, "It came to pass." The inquirer was puzzled & asked him to explain. He said that everything on this earth will pass - good days and bad - and remember that the next one will be different from this one.

Your difficulties won't be magically gone tomorrow, but your mood will lift in time, your headache will go away - and sounds like you have one very sweet dd to brighten your life! : )

We'll keep praying for you here.

I have a friend going through a difficult time with her ds and I told her the exact same thing! That "this too shall pass". A little different wording but still the same thing basically, ;)
I do thank you all for praying. I will be ok just having a hard time with this anniversary. I guess with the boys driving and graduating this school year, I just feel like he has missed so much.
Well, tomorrow will come and we'll keep leaning on the Lord to get us through. I do have so much to look forward to.
