Last week I went on to our local workforce center site to print off a generic job application form for my ddil who is looking for work. While on there I happened across an ad for our local Hospice program. They are looking to hire a Bereavement Counselor. My first positions right out of college I was Social Worker and Bereavement Coordinator/Counselor for 2 different hospice programs.
If I were to be hired I would not only be able to do something that was near and dear to my heart for years, but would also be able to help my dh pay off all of our debt within a year. We may be accumulating a substantial debt in a few months due to something my dh cosigned on, that the person may not be able to continue paying for due to health issues. This could be an answer to our prayers regarding how we would be able to cover this additional debt.
The biggest thing is - this would be a tremendous change for our youngest 2 dd's. They have never known anything other than Mom being home with them. I have worked outside of the home for a couple short periods of time in the past, but my schedule did not take away from my homeschooling/Momma-ing. My dd's are 13 and almost 12, they are very responsible and reliable, so I am not worried about any of that. They can do part of their schooling stuff on their own, and we would do whatever needed more in the evenings/on the weekends. They will probably spend part of their days with their oldest sister during the week, so that is fun for them as well. They are actually thinking this is a great thing, so why am I hesitant? Probably because I have not been in the workforce full time in 14 years. Egads I am getting old!
I just ask for prayer that if this is part of God's perfect plan for our lives, that I will be hired. It could be an amazing thing for our family, and hopefully a blessing for anyone that I would be assisting through Hospice. I know it was a huge blessing in my life when I worked with Hospice in the past. His will be done.
