She is the deaconess at our old church, my mentor. Her son was scheduled to have surgery today. They removed 80% of the plum sized brain tumor. Prognosis is one to two years. This is devastating news. My friend lost her husband to bone cancer 20yrs ago while she was battling breast cancer. A double whammy for that family. She survived and now has to see her youngest child succumb to the same disease. His name is Cyril and is not married, they are 3 other siblings. He such a sweet, caring son, I am praying for a miracle.

Praying that the Lord will bring peace to this family no matter what His decision.

My friend is back for a few days, she put her house on the market and will be flying back out Fri. Her son is home and she will be taking care of him, however long he has. Her sister lives in the same town as her son. Her son had one wish that the family is working on to fulfill, a family portrait with everyone. His biggest worry, not being able to recognize or remember his friends. He has already lost some peripheral sight and can't drive.

This friend has been such an example of Christian love, it pains me to see her losing her youngest child in this way. God is the author of our stories, there must be something in summoning the family from the four winds for a portrait, may that be a blessing for them all.

How bittersweet to get together for such a photo session but how precious it will be in years to come. We know people who's college age dd had a brain tumor/cancerous. She is now married and living a full life. I know it can happen and pray for the best for this family.

Cyril has been called home to heaven. He had been in hospice care the last few weeks. He was 53. Please say a prayer for his momma, Lorna. Thank you.
