Both seem to have developed some rather serious health issues this month.
I am working with several doctors to see if we can get to the bottom of some of my concerns and make them both more comfortable in the days they have remaining on this earth.

Please pray for guidance as I work with a kidney specialist, cardiologist, and a neurologist to sort things out.

I have some very critical decisions that need to be made soon and need my mother to work with me in case something were to happen to her, I would have everything I need to proceed to care for her, should she lose consciousness/or her kidneys fail completely.

I'm so sorry to hear it. Will be praying for them.

What you say sounds so similar to what I went thru with my Mom in 2011, and had to learn to navigate the med detals. (heart, kidney, neuro - all at once).

If there's anything you think I might be able to help with, don't hesitate to message me.

Praying for you CL, and for your parents. This has been long and winding road for you all.

My father is going downhill fast...his dimentia is growing increasingly worse and he is not hardly talking at all now. The cardiologist had a lengthy discussion with me tonight that he thinks something is going on in dad's brain that is preventing him from walking, with the exception of a few steps at a time, without having to sit for awhile before manuevering himself around with his walker.

We took him out for dinner and he barely said 3 words in an hour. He is entering another land, and I don't know what country he has landed in. He is starting to have a blank stare about him. Occasionally, he is with it enough to have a brief conversation, but this week has been very taxing on everyone involved.

I am so sorry to hear this. It is something we really dont prepare for, seeing our former caretakers needed care themselves. Seeing what my cousin has done for her mom amazes me. Her mom doesnt start conversations and would just sit all day if not for her live in caretaker. My aunt just gets loved on all day. My mom and dad visit with her and she recognizes them, but again, you have to ask her questions to get any speech out of her.

Praying you can overcome all obstacles regarding your dad's care and that the sparkle in his eyes return for you.

Cindy, I'm so sorry to hear of these new challenges! May the Lord grant you wisdom and peace as you make decisions.

thank you, everyone. My dad appears to be in the final stages of Alzheimers.
From what the GP has stated this weekend, there is more than likely nothing we can do for him, except take good care of him. He is currently in a wheelchair and no longer able to walk as of this past week. We thought he was having back issues, but it is probably more deed ceded than that.

Mom's kidney's are working @ 18% and when she gets to 14%, she will need kidney dialysis, but she has refused to sign a living will. She did sign a DNR when we were with hospice 1 1/2 years ago, but the hospital kept it, and it is no longer accessible, so I'm trying to figure out a way to obtain a living will document for her. She is SO stubborn and difficult to work with on these things. I am hoping she will not request kidney dialysis.

Everything is prepared for their funerals, for the most part. It would be interesting, just as the courts are wanting me to transfer them to a state run facility that would GROSSLY be against all that I stand for, if both my parent's were heavenbound...ALL these matters are in God's hands and I must trust Him for the outcome right now. Thank you SO very much for your prayers.
