Well, my fav Bible fell apart after 6yrs of BSF. It was a 1959 World Bible, KVJ with chapter headings and zillions of cross-refs and maps, etc. Great study Bible until the book of John literally fell out. I was able to repair it and just use it when needed. My current fav is a Spanish Reina-Valera 1960/KJV that has no extras, hence my backup Bible. Its helped me keep focused and I love having the Spanish text right there for comparison or clarification. Funny, I have found some passages in the KJV that are totally off base but find the Spanish matches up to the original Hebrew/Greek.

I have the Reina-Valera 1960, too! :) It does have some extras, tho'.

I'm an idiot. : \

I was sure my Inductive Study Bible was NIV. I went to check and it IS NASB.

With all the reading about different versions I am coming to the conclusion (so far) that I would prefer the NASU. The ISB is pretty large print but the notes are not quite big enuf (and the maps aren't very "pretty". ;-)

My dilemma now seems whether or not it's a good idea to spend $40+ for the new Bible in large print or make use of the newly discovered NASB right on my own bookshelf! I can always put off the giant print til another time.

NASB is a pretty accurate translation. It went with the approach of trying to keep the translation as close to literal as possible (the NIV has never taken that approach).

Sis, Do you have a Kindle or do you like reading stuff on-line? You can see many versions on BibleGateway and use the zoom feature to make the print large.

I do use online Bibles quite often. I'm just looking for one to use when my puter crashes and to take to Bible studies and such.
