I'll concede the extra definitions of martyr.

I'm sorry anything I said came across as criticism of those particular people; that was completely unintended. I get that they probably weren't expecting that. I was simply answering the original question, which I interpreted as "would you go back to the same place if this happened to you (and you survived)?" And I answered as clearly and as honestly as I know how. To me, honesty is more important than supplying the correct, expected, or accepted answer. I'm not trying to sway anyone or say my opinion is the only one to hold. I will not feel unChristian about my views, though.

Sorry I misunderstood your comments.

I was impressed by the courage & faithfulness these Christians have. I wish I would do the same in similar circumstances.

I think we both agree that doing what they do every day in living their faith would be a *very difficult* thing to do.
